On June 12, 2023, representatives of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with QazTrade Trade Policy Development Center JSC and international experts of the USAID Program, got acquainted with business processes in organizing and conducting export operations in the seaport of Aktau, as well as together with port services tried to identify procedures that delay the export of domestic products.
This visit was part of the mission’s work to prepare the National Export Review Report, which will include:
- identification of trade barriers in exports
- recommendations for addressing identified barriers
- proposals for bringing legislation in line with international practice
The purpose of the ongoing work is to provide technical assistance to the Republic of Kazakhstan in the analysis and evaluation of current export procedures and rules in order to reduce the time and cost of export, improve business procedures and harmonize national practices with internationally recognized standards.
During the visit, the experts will also visit the relevant customs posts, border, customs, veterinary, phytosanitary and sanitary and epidemiological control authorities at maritime checkpoints for detailed review and analysis of information on business processes and trade procedures in foreign economic activity.
