From May 14 to 17, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) is hosting a leading event on capacity development in the transport sector – Asia and The Pacific Transport Forum 2024 in Manila, Philippines.
Given that ADB is the climate bank for Asia and the Pacific, the Transport Forum 2024 is being held under the name “Clean Transport for All” and is dedicated to decarbonizing the transport sector, as well as ensuring the sustainability of transport infrastructure to climate change.
Since 2008, ADB has held a Transport Forum every two years, which brings together transport experts from the Asia-Pacific region, as well as sector stakeholders. From the very beginning, the Transport Forum, which was attended by only a few dozen people, has turned into the largest event in the field of transport knowledge in the region, where industry leaders and experts can conduct an open dialogue and exchange international best practices and experience.
Representatives of NC ASCP JSC took part in this forum and made a report on the work of our company, which is the first seaport in Kazakhstan certified according to the European EcoPorts standard. To date, the port of Aktau is the first seaport in Kazakhstan that has received the status of a “green port”.
Climate change is one of the most important problems of our time, requiring immediate solutions. We are aware of the importance of our impact on the environment and society, and while continuing to work on the implementation of a sustainable development system, we strive to maintain a balance of interests of stakeholders.
