On May 30 this year, a meeting of the Working Group on the Development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) was held in Shymkent.
On the agenda are issues of the Association’s operational activities and an analysis of transportation for 4 months of 2024.

In January-April 2024, 34 container trains were passed in the China–Azerbaijan connection/Georgia/ further to Turkey and European countries, whereas in 2023 the same figure was 4 container trains. During the period under review, 9,259 TEU (29 round trips) were transported along the Aktau – Baku – Aktau route in a feeder service, of which 5,711 TEU were transported in the direction of: East-West (Aktau – Baku), West–East (BakuAktau) – 3,548 TEU.

Through the efforts of the Association’s members, in January-May 2024, 61 full-fledged container trains from China (Xi’an, Chongqing, Nanjing) through the Altynkol border crossing to Azerbaijan (Absheron), Georgia (Tbilisi) and third countries (Poti/Batumi).

In the current geopolitical conditions, TMTM services have become the most significant transport and logistics solutions in the Eurasian space, where the main criterion for attracting container traffic is the speed of delivery, especially when transporting as part of container trains.
