The first North-South transport trade and export forum

On July 19-20, Aktau hosted the first North-South transport trade and export forum, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Serik Zhumangarin.

Akim of Mangystau region Nurdaulet Kilybai, Minister of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan Marat Karabayev took part in the opening of the forum.

Over the course of two days, about 440 participants from 12 countries discussed new trends in multimodal transportation and the possibility of opening new transport routes.

For the development of this route, a roadmap has been signed with Iran, Turkmenistan and Russia for the synchronous development of the potential of the eastern route of the international North-South transport corridor for 2024-2025.

The implementation of this document by 2027 will increase the capacity of the corridor to 15 million tons per year, and by 2030 to 20 million tons.

Chairman of the Management Board (President) NC ASCP JSC Abai Turikpenbayev made a presentation “The role of Aktau Port in the international North-South transport corridor at the plenary session “Multimodal interconnection and port development”.

On the second day, the heads of delegations and forum participants visited the main seaport of Aktau.

The distinguished guests were welcomed by the President of the port Abai Turikpenbayev and familiarized in detail with the production infrastructure of the seaport.
